Whilst two original members of the band, Bill O'Toole and Jon Swayne, were researching for bagpipe repertoire in the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library they came across an 18th century English bagpipe jig "Blowzabella, My Bouncing Doxie", which was an elaboration of a popular 16th century Italian theme.
They thought the name, with its alliterative "blow" and "bella" descriptive, perfectly summed up the band's sound.
"In Colour" was the band's brilliant second album of traditional numbers, which was released on vinyl in 1983.
Tracks 1 to 6 were recorded at Wave Studios, London by Charles Gray and Mike Brown.
Tracks 7 to 12 recorded live during a dance at the Arts Workshop, Newbury by the Sound Advice mobile studio by Malcolm Rivett-Carnac and David Howard.
Now, the vinyl has been digitally remastered by John Rivers at Woodbine Studios and for the first time ever been released on CD in a crisp deluxe digifile case, which is an incredible reinvention of the original gatefold sleeve.
